A typical day at The Westfield Day School will seem quite familiar to most students. They attend classes, work on independent projects, meet with their counselor individually and in small groups, and participate in discussions and activities.

Westfield’s low-key approach and small size are intentional and therapeutic, helping to offset the stimulus-seeking and nonproductive behaviors of many students.

The school, in a small building in downtown Rye, New York, contains classrooms with individual workstations, private study rooms, lounge area, a consultation room and an administrative office. With parental permission, students can take breaks or walk to nearby specialty clothing shops, music or bookstores, or pick up a snack or lunch at gourmet delis or local pizzerias. The City of Rye and nearby towns offer many varied and stimulating cultural events and recreational opportunities. The school is located one block from the Rye Metro North train station  and is a thirty-eight minute train ride to New York City.
